Searchive compared with the tools you may already have
Each page says where the other tool is the better choice and where Searchive is. Facts about the other products come from their own websites on the date shown on each page. Where a vendor's site doesn't say something we say so instead of guessing.
- Searchive vs Adobe Acrobat OCR
Acrobat OCRs one file well and edits it. Searchive searches a whole library and shows the match on the scan.
- Searchive vs ABBYY FineReader
FineReader is a per-document recognition editor with 198 languages. Searchive is library-wide search on Mac and Windows for a one-time price.
- Searchive vs Transkribus
Transkribus reads handwriting in the cloud and does it well. Searchive reads printed text offline. Often you need both.
- Searchive vs Google Drive OCR
Drive is free and convenient for a scan you are happy to upload. Searchive never uploads and works with the network unplugged.
- Searchive vs DEVONthink
DEVONthink is a Mac information manager for everything. Searchive is purpose-built for scans, on Windows too.
